The short version

  • No account. You don't sign in, and the game never asks for your email or name beyond the character name you type, which stays on your phone.
  • No network access. The game works entirely offline.
  • No tracking, no ads, no analytics. It doesn't track you across apps or websites, shows no ads and includes no third-party analytics or advertising code.

1. Everything stays on your phone

Your cafe, its regulars, the in-game Koffee posts, your settings and any photos you take in the game are saved only on your device. The game never sends them anywhere. A photo only leaves your phone if you choose to share or save it yourself.

2. Who's in your cafe

The cafe's locals and passers-by are made up by the game. The only real people it shows are Koffee friends from a list the Koffee app has left on your phone (section 3).

3. The Koffee app

Your character. The game writes a copy of your character and your cafe owner name to a storage area on your phone that it shares with the Koffee app. The game never sends it anywhere.

Information from the Koffee app (optional). When the Koffee app has left information in that same storage area, the game reads it: your Koffee username and usual drink, your character, and a list of Koffee friends (their usernames, usual drinks, how many coffees they've shared lately and when, and their characters). The game uses it to bring those friends into your cafe and never sends any of it anywhere. What the Koffee app puts there, and when it changes or removes it, is up to the Koffee app: see section 12 of the Koffee Privacy Policy. If the list is no longer there, the game stops bringing those friends in.

4. Deleting your data

Settings › Your data › Start over deletes your cafe. Deleting the game removes what it saved in its own storage. The copy of your character described in section 3 may stay in the storage area shared with the Koffee app while Koffee is installed. The game can't remove it once the game is deleted.

5. Who's responsible

Koffee: The Game is made by Koffee, in Ireland. The person responsible is named in the Koffee Privacy Policy. Questions: hello@koffee-app.com. If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
